LAB by La Bolina

Semi-Finalist

We want to make use of local resources that have so far remained untapped in order to unleash economic opportunities in rural areas, thus counterbalancing the increasing depopulation by retaining and attracting youth. We aim to co-create a space for collaboration between unemployed local young people and young refugees and migrants living in the area though integration activities and entrepreneurship training to create the opportunity for innovation around sustainable rural livelihoods. This would be achieved by the use of an interactive map, a cloud database and by La Bolina working as a networking and training hub between the local councils and the young people keen to get involved. We aim to develop and prototype this model in our rural community (Valle de Lecrin), then across the South of Spain, before extending it to other rural communities across the world.
